Villa Miramar, Frigiliana

This traditional cortijo has a special place in our heart. Why? Because of its' authenticity and the fact that the villa is clearly very loved by it's owners. The grandfather of the current owner constructed the house almost 100 years ago. Now it has been carefully restored and provided with an attractive private swimming pool.

This lovely, semi-detached cortijo is located in an elevated position in the hills around Frigiliana (3km)and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area out to the Mediterranean. The whitewashed village is a 5-10 minutes drive away from here. Enjoy your alfresco dinner at the lovely vine-covered porch, a barbecue is provided. The kidney shaped swimming pool (3,5x7,5m) is situated on the same level and very inviting! For those who wish to discover Andalucia, the situation offers good possibilities for a day-trip to Granada or Malaga. Closer-by, the Nerja caves are a must-see and the typical villages of the Axarquia are also highly recommended.

Inside, it couldn't be more Andalucian: the house has been restored with knowledge and good taste, using rustic materials and the original beamed ceiling. Old-time earthenware jars, antique ceramic and typical furniture emphasize the traditional character of this cortijo. The living/dining room has wooden dining table, open fireplace and satellite TV. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a 4 rings gas hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. There are two romantic bedrooms (one double, one twin) on the same floor. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, wc and washbasin. The washing machine is located on roof terrace.
