Yet, you will enjoy the quiet ambience of a countryside property and the wonderful views over the impressive gorge of the Higueron river. Inside the villa is spacious, simple and comfortable.

The villa is located along the Camino Boticario street, at just 2 minutes’ walk from the well-known Restaurant Virtudes, yet set away from the bustling whitewashed streets of Frigiliana. Here you can perfectly do without a car, since bus stop and taxis are just 150 meter away from the house and will bring you easily to the lovely beaches of Nerja or the many museums in Malaga. From the villa, you can also make lovely hikes through the riverbed of the nearby Rio Higueron or drop in to the countryside west of Frigiliana.
The outside area of the villa includes a spacious sun terrace and a private L-shaped pool (7.5m x 7.5m x 4m; 0.8m – 2.20m deep) to include a separate area for children at the shallow end. Sun loungers are provided. Another terrace, complete with patio furniture and umbrella, is located on a high level and accessible from the living room – it’s the perfect place to have your alfresco diner and enjoy the splendid views over the surrounding countryside. The built-in barbecue area is located next to pool.
Inside and layout
The villa offers comfortable furnishings, although it would benefit of ansince it’s a bit outdated at some points. The villa has the rooms divided over three levels.

On the ground floor your will find a spacious living room provided with 2 sofas, a coffee table and satellite TV. The separate dining room is conveniently located adjacent to the kitchen and provided with a dining table, sofa bed, and a wall unit with books for guests to read. The kitchen offers a lot of space and includes a breakfast table, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, 4 rings gas hob, electric oven and a microwave. There is also double bedroom and a shower room with WC on this floor.

On the first floor you will find 1 twin bedroom, 1 double bedroom and a WC with wash basin.

A shower room and the washing machine can be found on the lower ground floor.

Ten minutes walk to Frigiliana, via a somewhat adventurous country trail.
Don't turn around when you drive to the villa for the first time. It takes a bit to get here by car, but it's well worth the journey! Once you are here, the owner will show you the way to Frigiliana across the valley, only a ten minute walk. The views and tranquility are exceptional, whilst inside the villa combines comfortable furnishings with a tasteful decoration. It's one of those places where you feel at home away from home.
Location and outside area
This newly built villa is positioned on a hillside opposite the white village of Frigiliana and surrounded by avocado trees, enjoying a very quiet location. The outside area offers a built-in BBQ and a good size pool (7x4 m) up a few Roman steps. There is plenty of space for sunbathing while enjoying the stunning views over the countryside and the village. Sun loungers are provided. Adjacent to the living room is another terrace for those looking for shade, with dining amenities and views. The villa is accessed by a concrete path that leads down from the Frigiliana – Torrox road, with a few steep sections. Although there aren't many curves, we recommend you drive a car with at least a 1.4 L motor.
Frigiliana (3.5 km) is approx. a 5 minute drive; however, if you prefer giving your car a holiday, there is a countryside trail to the village, only a 10 minute walk away (good shoes are needed as this walk has some difficulties - the trail is not recommended during night time because there are no lights along the path). The famous beaches of nearby Nerja are just 10 km away, a 15 minute drive.
Inside and lay-out
The comfortable and cosy open plan living/dining/kitchen area with views to Frigiliana has two French doors opening onto a covered terrace. The living room has a sofa for 4 persons, open fireplace, a rocking chair, and is provided with satellite TV and music equipment. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, ceramic hob with 4 rings, microwave, oven and dishwasher. The bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins) are decorated in a soothing style with colourful textile bedcovers and paintings. There is a full bathroom with an over bath shower, basin, and WC, and a shower room with basin and WC. A wood-burning stove and mobile electric heaters are available for the cooler days in off-season. WIFI internet connection provided!

Walk to Frigiliana in 5 minutes!
This charming farmhouse is just a short walk from Frigiliana where you will find plenty of restaurants, tapas bars, and family-run shops. Nevertheless, its location is very quiet, set amidst olive and avocado trees and enjoying full privacy. Inside, this cortijo has been built in the Andalucian style: thick outside walls, beamed ceilings and decorated in ochre sienna and sky blue colours—modern day comfort… with traditional rustic charm.
Location and outside area
Situated near the historic village of Frigiliana, this is a beautiful 3-bedroom traditional cottage surrounded by lush avocado orchards, which gives this lovely place a Hansel and Gretel feel. The cottage is in a secluded location and yet only a 5-minute walk from the village making it the ideal location for those who want a country retreat but with easy access to all the village amenities.
Set in its own grounds, this villa offers you pleasant summer evenings eating al fresco next to the private pool with views to Frigiliana. A large shaded verandah with outdoor furniture in the front of the house provides an area for comfortable al fresco dining. Alongside the house, there is a small summer kitchen with a built-in BBQ and a second dining area with elegant teak furniture.
The cottage has a large pool (4x7.5 m long and 1x1.5 m deep) with a lawn area and a pretty sun terrace—sun loungers are provided for sun bathing and relaxing. The accommodation is also ideally located for exploring the impressive Moorish heritage of the Andalucian cities of Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba, amongst others. The town of Nerja and its beaches can be reached in 10 minutes by car.
Inside and lay-out
The house dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. It served as a stable for the mules needed to work in the countryside. The current owners, Jose Manuel and Pilar, inherited it and fully renovated it in 2006 with great care in the true Andalucian tradition. The thick walls, beamed ceilings, terracotta floors, and Spanish tiles create a delightful ambience. On the ground floor you will find an open plan living room with a large sofa, wood-burning stove and satellite-TV. The kitchen is small but well equipped with a 4-ring vitro hob, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and microwave. The washing machine is set outside. There is a double bedroom on this floor and a shower room with WC and basin.
On the second floor there are two romantic twin bedrooms with wooden ceilings and plenty of wardrobe space. The family bathroom on this floor is equipped with whirlpool bath, WC, and wash basin.

Only improvements are very small:
A note to explain how we dispose of our rubbish - we couldn't see any bins outside of the property and there were no instructions. More bin bags and toilet paper. A paper that has the wifi details as currently you hsee more

The banister going up to the two bedrooms is very, very wobbly and may actually be dangerous. The above are only tiny improvements (not complaints) and do not take away from a fantastic stay. |

Frigiliana is a beautiful village with plenty of lovely restaurants, with special mention for The Garden Restaurant and Restaurant Bar Virtudes. Watch out for those steep streets and steps!

It just was properly attached. Frigiliana is a beautiful village and just a few miles from busier Nerja. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend this property.

Frigiliana is a perfect village with lots of restaurants but is quiet and not over-full of tourist shops etc. Basic shops only in village. Otherwise it is a 10 minute drive to Nerja resort for sea. 1 hour drive to Alhambra. 50 minutes to Malaga Airport.

Very spacious and clean with a lovely swimming pool and sun terrace with clear views down the stunning river gorge. Large separate kitchen, dining room and lounge area. We had a wonderful week here.

The villa is located in a great spot, just off the main square of Frigilliana down a steep side road by the Restaurant Bar virtudes. My husband and son embarked on a few hikes up in the mountains, a great location if you're into walking. The villa was very clean on arrival, with great indoor and outdoor space. There was a terrace through double doors off the living room, which looked down on to the pool. The weather was beautiful and this area was a real suntrap. We had the sun from early morning and lost it around 4.30pm. The queen bedroom was also located off the living room, with a small balcony which showed off the stunning valley down to the river. There were a few basics there when we arrived, but we visited the little mini market up the street which was very well stocked and reasonably priced. The nearest Mercadona is a 10 min drive down the road to Nerja, taxi fare around EUR12. The garden also contained lovely orange trees which the children enjoyed picking and squeezing. We did have our 18 month old baby with us, who we did have to watch at all times as there is a steep staircase leading down to the ground floor and pool exit off the kitchen. It did get a little cool in the villa in the evening once the sun went down, however there were 2 portable heaters provided with plenty of bedding and once we put a cardigan on it wasnt really a problem. We ate a number of restaurants in the village, Plaza 45, Bar Pizzeria da giuseppe and Spices Indian restaurant all highly recommended. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely consider coming back here again.
